Streetlight Ministry began in 2002 as a way to reach young people in juvenile detention centers in Kentucky. Team members lead church services at these centers including worship music and Bible study. The young men and women at the facilities have responded in a huge way, giving their lives to Christ, growing in their walks, and reaching out to others at the facility.

While worship and study are a big part of this ministry, the aspect that seems to witness most to those in the facilities is simple conversation with team members. By seeing that someone is there to listen to their concerns and pray with them, teens at the detention centers are given hope and an example of Christ love. This willingness to talk about Jesus, pray about different situations, and simply listen is a great way to get on a personal level and witness to these teens who are going through difficult times.

God has used this team to lead many to Him, and will continue to do so, but we need help! If you feel called to lead worship or a Bible study, this ministry may be for you. But even more so, if you can listen and talk with a group that hungers for open ears, God can use you in an awesome way.
